THE SPIRIT OF CHINESE PHILOSOPHY. The Chou dynasty (? B.C.) is the golden age of Chinese philosophy. Philosophy is the systematic reflective thinking of life. Religion also has something to do with life. In the heart of every great religion is a philosophy.   Confucius, again, is traditionally regarded as the editor and compiler of the book. Editors: Alexandra Hui and Matthew Lavine Publication of the Fifty Years of Chinese Philosophy, O. Brière and Laurence G. Thompson. Chinese philosophy, the thought of Chinese culture, from earliest times to the keynote in Chinese philosophy is humanism: man and his society have occupied, if not monopolized, the attention of Chinese philosophers throughout the ages. Ethical and political discussions have overshadowed any metaphysical speculation. It must quickly be added, however, that this humanism does not.

When placed in the more creative sphere of discourse. As an important component of Chinese traditional culture, the I Ching's influence throughout history has been profound. The I Ching (Yì Jīng), or Classic of Changes, which dates from over 3, years ago, is believed to be one of the world's oldest two major branches of Chinese philosophy, Confucianism and Taoism have common roots in the I Ching.
